Dormer, born 11 February 1982, is an English actress from England. She has been
awarded an Empire Award and been nominated for two Gemini Awards, two Critics
Choice Awards and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. Dormer was born in Reading,
Berkshire. She made her name as Anne Boleyn, a part she played in the Showtime
series The Tudors (2008), which received acclaim from the public. She made her
stage debut with Sweet Nothings (2010). In Madonna's W.E., she played the character
of the Duchess, as well as York. (2011), Private Lorraine in Captain America
The First Avenger (2011). After Miss Julie (2012) at the Young Vic, was highly
and praised. Dormer received worldwide praise and recognition for her
performances in the roles of Margaery Tyrell (2012-2016 on HBO) and Cressida
(2014-2015 on The Hunger Games), that are among her most watched films. Dormer
has also played Irene Adler/Moriarty for the CBS series Elementary (2013-15),
Sara Price Jess Price in The Forest (2016) and voiced Onica in the show The
Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance (2019). Her role as Penny Dreadful: City of
Angels, a miniseries about Penny Dreadful, was highly praised. Dormer was born
on 11 February 1982 in Reading, Berkshire (England), as the daughter of Gary
Dormer & Claire Richards. She is also the sibling of Samantha Dormer
and Mark Dormer.
